Welcome
The Fragment Analysis Facility (FAF) was established in 1994 to facilitate scientific research by providing technical assistance with genotyping and nucleic acid purification.
The FAF offers genomic DNA isolation from whole blood, buffy coats, packed cells, cultured cells, blood spot cards, buccal swabs, mouthwash collection, Oragene saliva collection kits, and FFPE samples.
FAF genotyping services include SNP analysis by Taqman, fluorescent fragment analysis for determination of STR or VNTR number, analysis of insertions/deletions, SNP discovery by sequencing, and cell line authentication. Whole genome amplification, DNA archiving, and sample dispensing and shipping are also available.
The FAF is located off-campus approximately 1.5 miles from the Johns Hopkins Medical campus and maintains drop off sites at the hospital.
FAF services may only be used for research purposes. Any data or samples generated by the facility may not be used for human diagnostic or therapeutic use.
